I agree that "File Associations" or even "What opens what" would be
better names. I don't think they really suggest good icons either,
though. :(
Apple gets around this problem by not having a central control panel
interface for setting file associations, but rather making a context
function of individual files ("Use this application to open all X
files" on a file of type X). The functionality probably makes more
sense to users when it's in the context of "how do I open *this* file?"
