Hey nice refresh! :)

Do you know about the Tango Patcher project?

It modifies system files so the icons in it match tango icons. It's probably
the same thing as you do?

And just because I think it fits: I always add the a Clearlooks like
WindowsXP theme to my wine config (with the GUI) so wine apps match the
Gnome style. Maybe this could somehow be implemented by default sometime?
License should be ok. I think it would be a great addition to the wine
project.
