Empathy should add support for Polish IM Tlen.pl. It's quite popular in Poland
- it has about 700000 users.
It's protocol is based on Jabber, but it's not compatible with other Jabber
servers.
There is a Tlen plugin for Pidgin which works quite well:

It should be quite easy to integrate because there are already other protocols
supported by Pidgin plugins in Empathy.
