I've just learned that, in the test suite, a connection proxy conn has a bunch
of magic attributes—conn.Aliasing, conn.Avatars, etc.—which you can use
rather than laboriously calling methods on the right interface.

As well as going through the test suite using these, we should do the same
thing for channels.
