If C1 automatically closes, then yes, Alice's UI would have to request a new
1-1 channel to Bob in order to send additional private messages. This new
channel would have a newly-created switchboard (or the Skype equivalent).

Open questions that we'll need to think about some more:

* Should C1 close automatically? Why/why not?
* Should C3 close automatically? Why/why not?
* How do we solve the race condition mentioned in Comment #6?
