The Connection setting self presence functionality is nowadays only useful when
not using an AM ie. never in real applications unless you're the AM yourself.

Will be moved to a ConnectionLowLevel class in 0.5.0. As a low-level method, it
doesn't need and shouldn't have, in fact, high-level semantics like this (for
full control where it's needed).
