Shouldn't the proper way of exposing if a message was acknowledged to use the
delivery report functionality in
http://telepathy.freedesktop.org/spec/Channel_Type_Text.html?

There's code in empathy and kde-telepathy to respond to delivery report
messages.

However this patch currently doesn't emit those telepathy spec messages.
