Having mentioned this in the use-cases documents in my spec branch,
I'm now inclined to reject this reasoning. Channels close spontaneously,
as a result of all sorts of things - network error, CM crash, whatever -
so in my view anything that relies on channels staying alive is fundamentally
broken.

If you have a better reason why the chat UI shouldn't Close its own channel,
please let me know.
