Over the past year or more, I have been developing a high-level
collaboration library over Telepathy. Its name is Groupthink, and it is
written in Python.
Groupthink's shared text editing functionality was the subject of my
Google Summer of Code 2009 project for Sugar Labs. As part of that
project, I have written non-negligible documentation for Groupthink,
available at
http://bemasc.net/~bens/groupthink/
I believe this library has the potential to make it much easier to write
Telepathy-based collaborative software, at least for certain types of
software, in Python. For example, by combining Groupthink's shared text
editing object with gtksourceview2, I was able to add live shared editing,
and automerge of offline changes, to Sugar's Python IDE (Pippy) in a
handful of lines.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
