Davyd, from 38,000ft above Australia, asks:

        When a protocol supports Connection.Interface.Renaming, but a
        specific channel (e.g. on IRC) has a flag set to forbid handle
        renames while connected to that channel, is there any API to
        check if the capability will be forbidden?

        Also, when a channel member renames their handle, they are
        issued with an entirely new handle id. Is there a specific
        rationale behind this? Why are handle strings considered
        immutable, rather than a handle pointing to the more abstract
        concept of a person/room/etc.?
