[Telepathy] Porting a Connection Manager from 2.26 to 2.28

I wrote and tested my Connection Manager (The One Ring) on my Ubuntu
9.04 system. I then found the port to Maemo 4.1 easy enough and Maemo
5 a little bit more of a challenge but overall it was similar.

I'm now working on switching from Ubuntu 9.04 with Empathy 2.26 and
Mission Control 4(?) to Ubuntu 9.10 with Empathy 2.28 and Mission
Control 5.

All the other Connection Managers are still using ".manager" files so
I take it that it has stayed the same. I've not been able to figure
out where ".profile" files go or how to implement the equivalent
functionality. I've been trying to hunt around the Empathy and
Mission Control source but I'm not too familiar with it and am missing
where it is this is taken care of.

The Mission Control documentation specifies the use of ".profile"
files in an unspecified profiles directory
http://telepathy.freedesktop.org/wiki/File%20Formats

So how has the registration mechanism changed? Are there any other
pitfalls people can warn me about now so I can be better prepared for
them?

Thanks
Ed Page
