Unfortunately, the libuuid dependency was accidentally re-added in
2ee4a40a974[0] when libuuid isn't actually used in gabble, so if you
try and configure gabble without the libuuid development package
installed, the configure script will fail.

Two workarounds for now:

 1. Just install libuuid-dev (or add it as a build-dep) and ignore the
    fact that it's not actually necessary, possibly adding a note to
    remove it later.

 2. Cherry-pick the patch already in gabble git master[1] and rerun
    autogen.sh.

Sorry about that, folks. It'll be fixed in the next release.
