What is it?
===========
Empathy is a messaging program which supports text, voice, and video
chat and file transfers over many different protocols.  Empathy is the
default chat client in GNOME, and is based on the Telepathy framework,
making it easier for other GNOME applications to integrate collaboration
functionality.

What's New?
===========
This first release in the 3.1 development cycle is the first step that
will lead us to GNOME 3.2 in September.

Adium theme support has been greatly improved: we can now mark unread
messages, color the nick of participants and display a preview of themes
in the preferences dialog!

Empathy can now make the difference between normal messages and SMS
ones.
