XDG config dir is a GNOME 3.6 goal
( https://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/XDGConfigFolders ) so it would be
nice to have this. Looks like Jonny reviewed most of this already, if he
doesn't have time to finish the review, please point me to the remaining
patches and I'll take a look.

Comparing 0.16 and 0.17 NEWS files, it may be interesting to have:
- Implement WLM jidlookup. This makes possible to add MSN contacts using
XMPP.
- Fix google caps parsing  (not sure if this one has been backported)

GStreamer 1.0 support is going to be experimental in Empathy 3.6 (not
enabled by default) so I don't think it's worth having a stable tp-fs
for this.
