In the past we've avoided adding Telepathy-GLib service files available
for g-i for various reasons, the biggest of which being that it wouldn't
work as Telepathy-GLib exposes dbus-glib which is not introspectable,
but perhaps I'm misremembering something.

What are you working on, out of interest?
