[Telepathy] How configure Facebook chat support (Ubuntu 14.04)

The documentation online [1] suggests that using Facebook's messenger
is possible with Empathy. Unfortunately, the link to the detailed
description of the configuration is broken [1].

Can anybody tell how this can be configured? And maybe fix the dangling link?

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS, and there is no Empathy integration
option in Ubuntu's "Online Accounts" system settings.
