The standard for that is RFC 5870 - all this plugin does is generate and parse 
geo: URIs. And that's perfectly fine. It is up to the client whether it 
provides any special handling of geo: URIs, just as it is up to the client 
whether it makes http: or mailto: URIs clickable or the like.
