I subscribe to this fully. After working with F/OSS Adoption for
big companies (> 10 000 employees) I understand that
interoperability is the most important factor for success.<br>

Either adapt to this reality, or we chose to fail.<br>

Interoperability can be OK but dependency needs to be avoided.<br>

Look at the problems Digium had, they signed up to offer official
Skype support for Asterisk and then Microsoft changed the rules and
everybody who promoted it was left red faced when it stopped
working.<br>
