In the Gnome bug report you link to, it says:
"Reverting this commit causes firefox to function correctly. Verified with
gtk+-2.18.0 and 2.18.3."

I don't understand the terminology, but is "reverting" the "commit" something I
can do on my system to prevent the bug from happening, or is it something that
needs to be fixed in the code?
