To indicate the roles of the two converters straightforward, I
would like to rename the variables as follows. How do you feel
about them?

conv         -> outbound_conv
reverse_conv -> inbound_conv

I think that the "commit -> get_surrounding_text" cycle implied
by the word 'reverse' is unneeded and a bit confusing. So I
suggested the generic name unrelated to neither other variable
names nor the specific software model.
