The rotation when unresponsive is by design, see bug 60609. Originally one
should be able to move (and rotate) unresponsive surfaces, but due to bug the
move doesn't work anymore. I sent a patch to the list to fix this.

The real bug here is that the terminal becomes unresponsive. Can you provide
more details on how the terminal becomes unresponsive?
