i've noticed that this also happens unexpectedly after having used
weston-launch for a while. sometimes it happens in association with moving a
window.

in a similar vein: one time, with a patched version of weston, the cursor got
stuck when resizing a window to the bottom of the screen. another time, with
software-rendering forced in mesa (under an x11 session?), the cursor got stuck
when resizing the window to the bottom right hand corner. i'll report whether i
see more of this specifically with un-patched versions of weston with hardware
acceleration enabled.
