            Bug ID: 85879
Summary: RFE: absolute mode for chinese character input on a
                    touchpad
           Product: Wayland
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: Other
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: low
         Component: libinput
          Assignee: wayland-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: peter.hutterer at who-t.net

By default touchpads are in relative mode, translating finger input to pointer
coordinates or other events (scrolling, tapping, ...).

For the input of non-latin characters, the touchpad should be able to forward
touchpoints directly to a client for interpretation.
