feature in gnome-settings-daemon, where pressing the volume up/down on a USB
speaker would change the volume of that speaker, not of the system
sound)."

The API currently provides libinput_device_get_sysname() which allows for a
caller to get the corresponding input device, provided they guess the subsystem
right (udev_device_new_from_subsystem_sysname). Long-term it's probably better
to get the udev device directly from libinput.
