easiest way to test is with the ./tools/event-debug program in the libiput git
repo. That way you can exclude anything else interfering.

otherwise, check for a <somenumber>-libinput.conf in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d
to see if the driver is assigned properly. GNOME wayland may actually overwrite
the settings at runtime (called click-method, it's in the gsettings somewhere
but I don't have the command available right now).
