The result is generally better, especially at medium speeds (yay!) but does not
address the issue brought up here: the cursor's stickiness and lack of movement
when pivoting and rolling the fingertip, or moving it in a very small circle.
It's like at very slow speeds and distances, the cursor only wants to move
horizontally or vertically, not both.
I can now successfully move the cursor with pixel-level precision vertically or
horizontally, but any kind of both-vertical-and-horizontal movement (diagonal
motion, making circles, etc.) is sluggish, jerky, and feels unnecessarily
constrained to the X and Y axes.
