I pulled that hwdb fix:
$ udevadm info /dev/input/event5
P: /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input5/event5
N: input/event5
S: input/by-path/platform-i8042-serio-1-event-mouse
E: DEVLINKS=/dev/input/by-path/platform-i8042-serio-1-event-mouse
E: DEVNAME=/dev/input/event5
E: DEVPATH=/devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input5/event5
E: EVDEV_ABS_00=1316:5627:58
E: EVDEV_ABS_01=1355:4826:81
E: EVDEV_ABS_35=1316:5627:58
E: EVDEV_ABS_36=1355:4826:81
Looks like it was applied correctly.
The problem still persists though. Sliding in from the bottom, I only get
movement of the cursor after 1cm or so. Sliding from top to bottom I get
movement of the cursor all the way.
