It seems that someone is calling the weston_view_from_global_fixed() with view
== NULL. This is a caller error, and the caller should be fixed rather than the
function itself, so a workaround patch like the one attached will not be
accepted. Attaching a backtrace of when the crash happens would help to figure
out where things are going wrong.
