10:8 is the default pressure range for elantech touchpads now, so the above fix
should not be needed. what's going on there?

Note that to apply the hwdb properties you need to *both* run udevadm hwdb
--update *and* restart to make sure the property is applied to the device.
What's the output of udevadm info /sys/class/input/eventX for your touchpad
device?
