Yes, I would agree, but it's a bit difficult to do that in the Wayland backend
(i.e. not in core) because meta_window_unmaximize() restores the old
size/position and also does the meta_window_move_resize_internal().
Besides, the size which would be needed to compute the new placement is only
known when the clients has updated it following the xdg_surface.configure with
size 0x0
