Confirmed the new branch headed at fd96be761e538ef53ef67ef49c6b37407a948492 is
great (always seems responsive, no obvious delay).

Tested on both X1 Carbon gen 4 and 5 using Ubuntu 17.10 (Gnome Shell 3.26.1).
Ship it :)

I never needed any logging. It was a night and day difference just watching the
cursor move in gdm and gnome-shell.
