At this point I'm almost inclined to start a campaign to raise funds to get
Peter an X1 Carbon. This is a popular laptop among Linux users -- everything
else works perfectly with it (excluding the fingerprint sensor). Touchpad
functionality being unacceptable on a *Thinkpad* is most unfortunate.
