Definitely making progress! If this is in /etc/udev/hwdb.d/61-evdev-local.hwdb:

I can now reproducibly crash X on Fedora 26 just by touching the tablet with
the stuylus (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1535755). :D
