What level of complication are you looking for?  

This function will be overloaded in no time.  Three more entries and three more
"or" | statements.  

Piece of cake to write a patch but the code that exists right now is a
work-around and lacks the needed facility to create extensible user-friendly
patches.  It's just a stop-gap.
