Tried the patch and it works as advertised. I tried my test cases which were
failing with my attempt and they are working as expected.

The only issue I can think of is if the window is resized while being hidden,
after having previously been visible and ever maximized or fullscreened before.
If so, we'll use the size saved from before it was resized instead of the size
it was resized to..</pre>
