synaptics in fedora has a patch that discards any movement larger than 20mm.
this patch isn't upstream though, so a vanilla synaptics would have the same
jumps.
for libinput we try to fix the issue properly, i.e. in the kernel driver or
through hw-specific fixes. so let's see what the cyapa driver author says
first.</pre>
