nope, the hwdb quirks are generally for userspace only. In this case the
problem is that the kernel doesn't send the right sequence to initialize the
touchpad and this isn't something we can fix in userspace. Until that's done,
there isn't much we can do in libinput. The same would likely be true for the
touchscreen too.
I'll leave this bug open for Benjamin if he wants to track it here but this is
something that should be tracked in the kernel bugzilla.</pre>
