I am using an ALPS touchpad on a Dell Latitude E6320 (when using
Xorg+synaptics, the touchpad is reported as 'AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad'
by xinput).
Edge scrolling does not work well under Wayland, for two reasons:
1) the main reason is that it works unreliably (sometimes you have to try
scrolling three or four times before it recognizes you are trying to scroll),
2) also, the scrolling speed seems a bit too high.
With synaptics it worked like a charm.
