The actual border between middle and right button is nearby but not exactly at that position. It took some time to fiddle with the button area settings to make it fit my fingers exactly. Regarding the patch - my thumb rests on middle button position normally. As soon as I move it down into the touchpad area (while not lifting it, so in fact it is sliding over the surface) and do a click there it is still recognized as middle mouse click.
