        <pre>Acceleration and hysteresis are different problem spaces. I sincerely doubt
that hysteresis-related complaints will disappear if you improve the
acceleration.

I experience the problem and confirm that rolling my finger half a millimeter
results in no cursor motion at slow speed, and ad moderate speed the cursor
seems constrained to the X or Y axis exclusively. 0.5mm threshold or no, I can
tell you that this happens, and that disabling hysteresis makes the problem
disappear.</pre>
