        <pre>Hello I am running Arch Linux on kernel 4.12.8-2-ARCH. My problem is very
similar to <a class="bz_bug_link
          bz_status_RESOLVED  bz_closed"
   title="RESOLVED NOTOURBUG - Touchpad interferes with trackpoint when disabled"
   href="show_bug.cgi?id=96267">https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96267</a> in which when the
touchpad is disabled with xinput I constantly being put into click-to-drag lock
based on my palms touching the touchpad.

My understanding of the resolution for this issue is to add
"psmouse.synaptics_intertouch=1" to my kernel boot options per the warning in
dmesg.  However even after adding that parameter even though the warning is no
longer present in my dmesg output my touchpad still shows up as 'SynPS/2
Synaptics TouchPad', my understanding is that it should show up more like
'Synaptics TMXXXX' with RMI enabled.  Thanks for your help!</pre>
