I'm not using an Apple touchpad, but with accel speed -0.85, your patch RADICALLY improves the feel anyway, both for cursor movement and scroll speed. It's a vast improvement over the Flat or Adaptive profiles. I would strongly support using the acceleration curve as the default, or adding it as an additional profile beyond Flat and Adaptive.
