Yeah, that was me doing:
mv /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d.0

Still not working:
xf86OpenConsole: Cannot open virtual console 8 (Permission denied)

Trying to open /dev/vc/8 or /dev/tty8.  Don't think it should be doing
that?
