Hi,
attached below is a jhbuild moduleset with which I was able to build and
run Wayland on a Dell Inspiron N5110. This system runs on Intel Core i3
with integrated GPU, so the i915 driver was used. All the components from
the moduleset were updated today, so the moduleset itself is up to date.
There were some extra steps I've taken to get Wayland to run on this
hardware, though not necessarily required:
- up-to-date Mesa was also installed system-wide
- this system also has a nvidia graphics card available, so I stayed away
from the proprietary drivers and even blacklisted the nouveau module
The system is running Ubuntu 11.10, but I can't recall from the top of my
head what extra development packages were installed. But generally, as long
as the builds with configurations as specified through jhbuild don't fail,
it should all work fine. If really required, I can devote some time to get
Wayland up and running on a fresh Debian-based system (might be Mint) and
document the whole process.
Regards,
Zan
