Question about multi-display on wayland protocol

I'd imagine this is something like _NET_WM_FULLSCREEN_MONITORS, which
allows an application to full-screen across multiple outputs. This is a use
case xdg-shell doesn't handle right now. I don't know of anything but games
that would like to use such a feature, though.
