Multi-view is a Weston feature AFAIK, but it does not depend
on any extra protocol, clients will never notice nor control it,
and any compositor can implement it if it wants to.

It is inherent to Wayland in the way that Wayland protocol makes
this possible by not telling clients where their windows are on the
desktop or outputs exactly. Clients know the set of outputs their
surfaces touch, but not coordinates.
