I find it unlikely Eric wouldn't have noticed this bug while he was
working on the implementation so I'm testing Eric's glamor-next
branch; assuming that works I'm going to have a go at manually
re-merging it myself at the merge point into master. It seems most
likely to me that it's a merge bug.
