Hi Jussi,

In the future please generate your patches using `git format-patch` and
send them with `git send-email`.  For details see
http://wiki.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/SubmittingPatches/

Make sure to check the error conditions for the fopen and open.  Your
changelog entry might also elaborate on what the use case is for this
feature.
