random window positon with desktop shell

It sounds like she's actually bypassing Wayland entirely for the
video, so this wouldn't help.

Nancy, if you are able to modify your platform so that it passes the
video through Wayland instead of trying to avoid it, then this (and
many other problems) will be solved.
