I think that's an unfair characterization. There's nothing wrong with
competition. Note also that this is the *Wayland* mailing list, not the
Weston mailing list (though Weston development tends to happen here,
too).

I've expressed my concerns with libweston before, even to weston
developers. Like I said, there are _fundamental_ problems with
libweston's _approach_, at least so far as it's suitability for my
needs (and the needs of the other compositors involved in wlroots) are
concerned. If I were to suggest improvements, the first would be to
throw it all out. Clearly this wouldn't be productive, so I didn't bring
it up.

I think if you examine libweston and wlroots you'll find that though
they fill similar niches, they do so in very different ways.
